Like any good nursery, the HRWA Native Plant Nursery needs constant care to keep our plants thriving. Along with regular watering, we are constantly pulling weeds, mulching, and repotting plants as they outgrow their containers.
We have a core team of volunteers committed to these efforts, and we are always looking for others who would like to be involved. Nursery volunteers learn to identify our native plants, as well as many of our problem weeds; become skilled at proper planting and plant maintenance; get first crack at purchasing new plants; and get to socialize with other plant-lovers in our quiet, beautiful park setting.
Our nursery maintenance team currently meets every Monday evening, from 6:00-8:00, but you are welcome to arrange other hours that better fit your schedule. Please contact Darin Crew or Ashley Traut at 410-254-1577 for details, or if you'd like to volunteer.
