Problem Plants

Many of our native plant species are under assault by a suite of non-native, invasive plants. Left unmanaged, these "problem plants" quickly take over, reducing native plant diversity, eliminating wildlife habitat and food sources, and significantly decreasing the beauty and accessibility of our forests, streams, and parks.

We need your help to control the spread of these aggressive plants! Below is a list compiled by the Baltimore City Weed Warriors of some of the more problematic species in our area. We urge you to learn about these species and join us on one of our weed pull outings. Or just organize your own weed pull in your neighborhood!

To learn more about invasive plants in our area, and how to take a more active role in combating them, contact the Urban Weed Warriors program and sign up for one of their training classes.
